Lucy Doyle.

The paintings showing here at The Bad Art Gallery represents Lucy's work over the past year. She has called this collection Chinoiserie, which is a loose term to describe the art and artefacts that emerged out of western culture as a direct result from eastern oriental influences. Lucy has always been fascinated by Japanese art, after seeing The Great Japan Exhibition in 1981 held at The Royal Academy in London. "As a painter I am continually trying to develop my own personal visual language, in order to express myself fully. I am primarily painting for myself, as I need to express myself visually and paint what I want to paint, I never paint for a market in mind, however, although the process of painting is essentially a very private pursuit, the end product is then freed from the artists control and is put out there for people to hopefully enjoy."

The Bad Art Gallery exists to increase the awareness of art, thus making it more approachable and affordable as possible. The Bad Art Gallery, due to its wide space, can exhibit over two hundred paintings at any given time. There is a huge variety, and the work on display is regulary updated. Now, through our new website, you can take the time to browse through the vast selection of artists, that are currently on sale at the gallery. However, not only can you get to see what the gallery has to offer, but you also have the option of purchasing any item, directly from our website.

Draw your attention to the extra services at the bottom of this page, that include the option of purchasing gift vouchers, creating wedding lists, then you have the corporate art section for those interested in the larger paintings. You also can see our attractive payment plan service, that enables you to pay installments for any item in the gallery. We also organize solo show events for some of our contributing artists. Solo shows at the Bad Art are always a fun and relaxing event, and it also gives the artist more use of space to display all their work, for those that are particularly attracted to that artist’s style. Just call in to visit us and take some time out to explore the huge collection of great art.!
