Brian B Kelly

Bryan Beresford Kelly was born in Ennis County Clare. He was educated at The Christian Brother’s Schools, Ennis and Limerick and also at Saint Munchin’s College Limerick. In the early sixties he studied ‘Garment Technology’, which included Textile Design, at Leeds University, Yorkshire, England. Most of Bryan’s working life has been spent in the textile industry in England. He taught himself Ceramics in the early seventies and opened his first studio in Lancashire in 1974. He has exhibited his ceramic work in Newham, East London, and at Ely Cathedral Cambridge. He has also had studios in Essex and in West Cork. He now works, as a fulltime artist, from a studio at his Bunclody (Wexford) home. Bryan takes pride in the fact that in the true tradition of artists generally referred to as ‘Naïve’, ‘Primitive’ or ‘Outsider’, he is virtually self taught.
