John Collins

‘Sawdust And Spangle-Land’ is the title of John Collins’ latest series of works. Primarily oil on canvas/board medium, they are both inviting and engaging. John is very much a contemporary artist who’s palette revolves strongly around his selection of red and white formations which he works into most every situation. Having spent most of last year developing this latest series in Limerick and New York he acknowledges how such diverse backdrops really do encourage his work. “My paintings are a very personal matter to me. These are my true colours, if you will. On such a journey of self-expression, I try to reveal the distinction of my own abstract conflicts through my painting. I always refer to the fact that it is an ongoing battle and indeed the recurring red and white influence is a realisation of that”. John Collins’ paintings are part of collections in Ireland, England, France and the U.S
